After pick up from the hotel, we drive up to the castle hill and enjoy the panorama of Alanya. The history of the city of Alanya is closely connected with the history of the castle. For many centuries Alanya existed for the most part only on this castle hill. The hill and the imposing fortress was of immense strategic importance for the Roman Empire. From here you will visit the Seljuk shipyard. Sultan Alaeddin Keykubat built this shipyard in 1227 in order to defend the dangers of conquerors of the eastern mediterranian sea with their help. After the visit you have the opportunity to explore the city on your own. Lunch will be served at the Dimçay. Not to be missed is the Dim Cave, which we will also visit. It is one of the largest accessible dripstone caves in Turkey. In good weather, we will take a boat trip around the castle hill to “Cleopatras beach”. According to the legend, Queen Cleopatra came to Alanya during a voyage across the mediterranean sea and swam in this bay. What is special about the Kleopatra Bay is the glacial clear water. Should windy or rainy weather make the boat trip impossible, an extended stay with shopping opportunities in the city will be organized instead.
